Vital records retrieval
Birth, death, marriage, and probate records pulled from California and LA County archives — for your own files, an application, or a case you’re building.
Citizenship-by-descent research
Document research and retrieval to support ancestry-based citizenship claims.
Family history research
Tracing your family’s story past the records — building out your tree, filling in the gaps, and helping you understand who came before you.
From Research to Novel™
A program for turning documented family history into a novel — for anyone who wants to tell the story, not just file it.
A bit about me
I track down the records that don’t turn up in a quick search — county clerks, courthouse basements, microfilm, and the occasional office that only answers the phone on its own schedule.
Genealogy is one part curiosity, one part research, and about a hundred parts waiting — on appointments, replies, third-party offices, paperwork, and the occasional archive that just doesn’t love working with genealogists.
I’m a member of the National Genealogical Society and the Southern California Genealogical Society, and I serve on the board of the Los Angeles City Historical Society.
Availability
I take on a limited number of research projects at a time. If you reach out and I’m at capacity, I’ll tell you straight rather than leave you waiting.

The fine print
Records for living or recently deceased individuals should be obtained through VitalChek or by contacting the county clerk directly.
Every so often, a record goes missing somewhere between the county office and your mailbox. It happens to the best of us — and when it does, it’s on the house.
