About

I’m Aryn Youngless, a Los Angeles-based genealogist specializing in document retrieval for dual citizenship applications. I help immigration attorneys, citizenship consultants, and individuals locate the vital records, naturalization documents, and historical records needed to support Italian, Irish, German, Polish, and Canadian citizenship cases.

My work focuses on Los Angeles County and California state archives, where I’ve developed deep expertise in navigating vital records offices, county repositories, and state archival systems. I know where to look, how to request records effectively, and what to do when documents are difficult to locate.

I serve on the Board of the Los Angeles City Historical Society, where I help preserve and promote the city’s rich history by overseeing the quarterly newsletter. I am also a member of the National Genealogical Society and the Southern California Genealogical Society.

I came to professional genealogy through a broader passion for family history research. Over the past fifteen years, I’ve written extensively about genealogy, created research workbooks, taught workshops, and helped hundreds of people document their family stories. I’ve been featured on podcasts including Big Blend Radio and TV, GenX Stories, and The Totally Legitimate Business Podcast, where I discuss the importance of preserving family history and understanding where we come from.

While my professional focus is now document retrieval for legal and citizenship cases, my background in creative writing and family history storytelling gives me a unique perspective — I understand that behind every citizenship application is a family’s story of migration, survival, and identity. That context matters when you’re tracing lineage across generations.

I’m also a published author and co-founder of Spring Heeled Jack Media, a small publishing company I started with my son. I’ve worked as a writing coach and helped other writers achieve their goals — you’ll find my name in the acknowledgments of books like Jaimal Yogis’ City of Dragons and Bethany Crandell’s See Jane Snap.

Currently, I’m researching my own family history using traditional archival methods and genetic genealogy — which keeps me grounded in the realities of genealogical research and reminds me why accurate, well-cited documentation matters.

Whether you’re an attorney working on a complex citizenship case or an individual trying to prove your eligibility, I’m here to help you find the documents you need.
